Our Mandate
The NCD exists to promote equalisation of opportunities and realisation of the rights of PWDs through rights advocacy, policy influence, research, disability coordination and networking, as well as monitoring and evaluation.

Objectives
In order to realise our mandate, the Council pursues the following objectives:
Monitoring and evaluating the impact of policies and programs designed for equality and full participation of PWDs.
Advocating and promoting effective service delivery for PWDs, and steering collaboration between service providers and PWDs.
Influencing the enactment of laws and review of existing inappropriate legislation for purposes of disability sensitivity and mainstreaming.
Acting as a coordinating body between Government departments, service providers and PWDs in as far as disability work is concerned.
